About Wyld Wood Campsite

The campsite is set in a beautiful 13 acres of woodland. Dotted with ashes oaks and birches. You’ll find no manicured lawns here, we really care about our woods and want to keep them a natural wildlife filled environment. There are many song birds darting about, Deer, rabbits, foxes, butterflies, bats and lots of dragonflies at the right time of year.

A public footpath runs next to the Campsite, leading west into Newick town and east across fields and woodland to the Bluebell railway.

Our pitches are a short walk from the car park (about 200m) taking you into the heart of the woodland.  All our yurts are 16′ which will comfortably sleep 5 people. We have tried to keep the woodland as bare as possible so you can enjoy natures magic.

Thank you to the team at Wyld Wood. My wife and I stayed in your wood this weekend and really enjoyed taking a pause in our busy lives. The Stars were brighter and the air cleaner than our home in London. We unwound and slept very well in the comfortable yurt and were very pleased with the showers and other facilities.

We recently staying at Wyld Wood campsite and had an amazing time. What a peaceful, beautiful location, it is a very ‘woody’ forest location with loads of trees. The yurt was lovely big and spacious and our kids (2 & 4yrs) loved sleeping on the camping beds, the yurt includes a gas stove so was lovely to make coffees and bacon rolls in the morning. The double bed was also very comfy. We really enjoyed our evenings around the campfire, toasting marshmallows! The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves running around and climbing trees and going on ‘bug hunts’. It was lovely to just explore the surrounding area . We had great days out and took a train at Bluebell steam railway, that was great fun for us all! Also we went to Lewes castle, very enjoyable. Thanks so much Diana you made us feel so welcome and what a memorable holiday this has been.

We spent a lovely weekend camping in the woods. What a tranquil location tucked away from it all.

After a friendly greeting, we were shown to our dedicated pitch, complete with log bench and firepit.

All the pitches and yurts are suitably spaced apart, so you never feel on top of each other.

All in all a lovely weekend and we’ll be back again soon.

Just had a fantastic 2 night stay in Fox yurt. The site is a beautiful, peaceful clearing in a lovely wood. We heard lots if owls, saw deer in neighbouring fiend and saw a few toads on the site. Yurts have all you need for a confortable stay, and walking distance to amenities and pubs in Newick. Hosts very welcoming. Hope this site stays as untouched and peaceful as it is now.

Delightfully situated in very natural woods, with nice large camping pitches and great firepits. Thoroughly enjoyed the sound of bird song day and night. Could also hear the deer call at night and the sound of swooshing leaves in the breeze. Very relaxing. Lovely friendly welcome, all amenities available, will be back again!

Lovely weekend at Wyldwood! Yurts are well equipped, showers and toilets are in a good condition. Loved the open firepits, and getting the kids to gather kindling was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!
